I think they're just getting old. Clarkson in particular has aged a lot since 2002, whenever I see a repeat on Dave (a TV channel) I can tell roughly how old an episode it is by looking at how grey/balding Clarkson's hair is.

The day before yesterday, the BBC made an episode about anti-cycling! :wow:
"Cyclists. Red and green. Learn the bloody difference."
"Work harder. Get a car."
"You stopped playing with kids' toys when you grew up" 'Oh look, I did a skid!' *falls off bike* Act your age. Get a car."

These cars were there:

A Porsche GT3 model burnt by Clarkson. Hammond gets to use his GT3 oven gloves for the first time.
Porsche 918 Spyder
A sports car whose name I cannot remember, of which, FAIK, not even one of the versions with the Rover V8 were sold.
A 6-wheeled Mercedes driven by Hitler.

James: That's not Hitler.
Hammond: It is.
James: It isn't. That car was built long before indicators were invented, so he's just doing hand signals.
Clarkson: What signal's he doing there, then, James?
James: He's saying: "Take the third Reich!"

@Longtail: Black borders need to be removed from these pictures. I also think that Star Wars Fanatic has been working on this series since a long time (I think he even added episode 22.01) so I'm not sure these pics will be validated anyway.

I know this is obviously one the most popular car related show in the world and is now viewed at the same time all over. But StarWarsFanatic has been doing every episode for a long time and he always comes through so i would leave it be to him.

Sandie SX

I'm inclined to agree. Even if speed was important, Longtail still hasn't removed the black borders from his pics!

2015-02-10 21:04

Sorry guys. I wasn't aware that StarWarsFanatic was already doing this. Usually new cars are uploaded after a day or so and for this, it was more than two days so I thought nobody had done it yet. I was actually working on different pictures as the ones I had uploaded weren't clear enough and there was also the black borders issue. I have now uploaded new pictures and with the black borders removed.

dragonboy AU

2015-02-12 15:04

THe borders were a problem yes, but the problem is still that your trying to submit pictures, on a very long term show that been done for a long term by the same user. Its great you want to help out, but on here unless stated by that person, we tend to respect their wish and leave it to them.

On the other hand, SWF comes just once a year on the site to add pictures to this page, and that's all :/
Isn't this the kind of series/show that deserves a more regular update? Pictures can still be replaced by better ones when SWF do them.

Longtail

2015-02-12 19:12

I will of course respect SFW if he wishes to add the pictures himself. And yes. I just wanted to help out. Usually, new cars are added in less than 24 hours or thereabouts but this time I noticed that it was more than two days and the cars were still not added so I thought I could contribute a little. Nevermind. After SFW's added the cars, I will just post my pictures in the comments.

Maybe one of us needs to just do it. I always get the 720p/1080p and always as soon as its out and im happy to do it. SWF hasnt commented since last years season on this page and thats it, so hes really not that very active anymore. Usually im all for leaving it to the person who has done it always, but for a show like this thats effectively the most popular show....in the world, it should be updated regularly. And i have contirbuted to this page before on numerous occasions

Longtail

2015-02-24 17:33

Thats the exact reason why I uploaded the three cars (because they weren't added before) but then everyone said SFW was working on it so I didn't do anything further. So many cars have still not been added. The HSV Maloo and the road trains from the Australian road trip, the whole 3rd episode, 4th episode and now the 5th. Thats like four weeks already and absolutely nothing has been done after my Bentley, BMW and Nissan. I have 720p versions of all four episodes and I can contribute if needed.

Btw, I cringed a bit yesterday when Jeremy smashed his Peugeot into the mint-looking MR2. Why must they always crash good cars under the name of 'funny experiment'?

Sandie wrote I'm wondering if anyone else spotted the Ginetta G21 in tonight's episode...

Yes, I did notice it and thought, "wow, that looks sweet". But I'll be honest, I didn't know what the car was until I read your comment.

Maybe lets give it a timeline to still respect SWF. If he doesnt add any more once we come to the final episode, then ill just start adding them from episode 3 which is where its stopped. Were at episode 5 now in airing and this season has 10 so he has a few weeks if he decides to perk up but otherwise i think this page needs to be taken over to keep it up to date.
Antoine is the leader of this whole site and if he doesnt have a problem as mentioned a bit earlier of someone else doing it then thats good enough.

Edit: Did at least make 22.02 complete since longtail started it to SWF type shots, but will leave new eps unless as stated above which seems fair

2015-02-26 16:33

As I said, as he is not active on the site and just posts the pics once a year in one block long time after episodes airing, I don't really see the point of holding contributions here.
It is not like other series that people are completing regularly and just want to avoid that someone else rushes adding pics first.

The problem is that Top Gear makes so much money for the BBC if they cancel the show the licence fee will go up. Whatever you may think about Clarkson, the show would die on its feet without him. No doubt his lawyers will be rubbing their wallets in anticipation of fat fees, and it's about time we had a good dose of political incorrectness to help UKIP win the forthcoming election. They could make Clarkson Minister of Transport.

I hope May and Hammond would refuse to continue, otherwise that would be a stab in the back.
He created Top Gear after all, he reinvented the format.

Actually the problem was he punched a producer, no one was vicariously offended.

"the producer involved in the dispute, said to have taken place after filming in Newcastle, was Oisin Tymon, 36.
The Mirror reported the alleged bust-up was over a lack of catering after on-location filming. “They came to the end of filming after a long day and Jeremy discovered that no food had been laid on.”

Ive signed it and i hope they eventually air the final episodes once this whole mess is sorted. Obviously they cant finish filming eps while hes suspended, but we can only hope that the BBC realise how much of an inmpact he has on their broadcast and how much money and viewers this show brings in, that this can just be done with so everything goes bakc to normal. I was really looking forward to the last few eps too, as you had a cheap classic cars challenge, cheap off roaders, and at some point whether it would have been the final episode or next season (if it happens) the ultimate three way hypercar battle between porsch, mclaren and ferrari.
At least one thing is, this gives SWF a chance to catch up.

Clarkson says he's “intensely relaxed” about the investigation.

The three will probably stick together, as James suggests in this video Link to "www.theguardian.com", and compete with the BBC's third incarnation of Top Gear. On a commercial network there's always the problem you can't be too negative or honest about the car companies for fear of losing sponsors. Exactly the reason Jay Leno refuses to do a network show, only a web based series with creative freedom.

Various rumours online that (1) TG will be relaunched with a new trio - Philip Glenister, Jodie Kidd and Guy Martin - Link to "www.telegraph.co.uk" (2) Clarkson spotted filming with a yellow Corvette for a possible new car show (or maybe just a video to go with his Sunday Times column) - Link to "www.theweek.co.uk"

If the new trio is true, it looks as if TG have just raided other car shows on Channel 4 & 5 for their presenters - but Philip "Ashes-to-Ashes" Glenister and Jodie are definite car enthusiasts; I'm not really sure who Guy Martin is. Could be a reasonable combination - Jodie's recent show on Channel 5 was severely handicapped by appallingly bad scripts, so it would be interesting to see if she can cut loose to something more spontaneous and stops doing twee-girlie and glamorous ex-supermodel routines.

The BBC was very keen to include a woman presenter to attract a more female audience, according to (now former) producer Andy Wilman. Link to "www.theguardian.com"

2015-05-07 00:54

I don't really mind what audiences they try to attract, provided they remember the focus of the programme should be cars, not the personalities. There seems to be a trend to create programmes where the theme just becomes a ..... um .... vehicle for an hour of presenters to do the personality thing, so the programmes all start merging into a porridge of cars/restorations/cookery/housebuying/baking/sewing/antiques/dinosaur-taxidermy or whatever, and the enthusiasts get slowly but steadily left behind.

You just have to pause it or press the Print Screen button at the right moment. It can be a bit fiddly, plus when you try to "rewind" (moving the thing back on the progress bar) to have another go the picture often gets pixelly for a few moments.

You have to get a HD download. Which snapshots do you need?

Actually that method's a pain in the arse really, I don't blame you for giving up quickly.

Thanks - tried it and posted some more stuff from the classic show. Could have kept going for a few more, but have got the best ones so that'll do me. I think pics are OK, but if you can do better quality, feel free.

"Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are reuniting to create an all-new car show, exclusively for Amazon Prime. The show will be produced by the trio’s long time executive producer Andy Wilman. On working with Amazon, Jeremy Clarkson said “I feel like I've climbed out of a bi-plane and into a spaceship.” The first show will go into production shortly and arrive exclusively on Amazon Prime in 2016." - Link to "www.amazon.co.uk"

Matt LeBlanc of all people will be hosting the new BBC Top Gear. An actor with no detectable personality. I for one will not be watching that.

Just a reminder in case anyone's planning things for the Chris Evans era TG (Series 23 onwards), it gets a completely new page - as agreed a few comments above that this page is now completely full. All comments about how Chris Evans is even more of an irritating and self-promoting twonk than Cristiano Ronaldo should go to that new page.

:hello: @antp - I just tried to open a new page in readiness for the anticipated hordes of contributors, but it would not accept it because it would have the same imdb number so got "This page already exists" message.

In S21.E3, there was a short glimpse of an old Soviet car, which looked much like a Moskvich 2140. Twice I tried to upload it, and twice it got taken down. I'm upset that it wasn't saved.

I saw, what I assume is a red Maserati Ghibli (Tipo AM115, Reg. JYY 382J) in S6.E02 while Clarkson is reviewing the "Ladybird Book of Motorcars 1963" in the studio. Definitely a background vehicle that isn't even called attention to in the 2 shots it's in, but both shots are very clear, so I am bewildered as to why it's not listed here.

I added a tractor from episode 3.03, it was shown when James May was discussing how Subarus didn't have actual dealers at the time they were first introduced to England and instead were sold alongside muck spreaders, tractors and farm equipment showrooms. I also add a Range Rover Series I from that same episode (and segment) that may be different from the other Range Rovers that are already posted.
