Axxx OEV series issued late 83, but I think DVLA used to keep back numbers 1-20 in every series for cherished numbers sold at premium cost. As an Essex EV combination this was probably a factory registered car with A 200 EV as a publicity number. So DVLA date likely to be correct. More info - "A20 OEV, the infamous RS200 Evolution, held the 0-60 record for many years (3.07 seconds). Now up for auction … - Link to "www.classicfordmag.co.uk" .... where it made £123,600 gross - http://www.rs200.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=251&t=416 (which states it was chassis #182, originally registered G900 TJD and originally one of 5 planned to be bought by Tom Cahalane of Sun International, California USA but it never left the UK as it was sold on by Cahalane to Alan Fenwick in the UK. However Link to "www.theultimateshine.com" has a stranger story - "This exceptional RS200 Evolution was originally built specifically for the Sultan of Brunei and features a unique mix of performance and luxury. The Brian Hart-built engine has been Dyno-tested at an amazing 628bhp at 7,000rpm .... ". G900 TJD was a 1990 issue plate, so 1990 RS 200 Evolution seems accurate. -- Last edit: 2012-11-27 23:16:18 |
