In a later episode, yes. They originally bought the car in season one, to see how much of a difference saving weight made for acceleration. Eventually, they added nitrous, and yes, tried to hit 100mph on an aircraft carrier, which saw the end of the original Stig.

it wasnt a short scene, they bought it, stripped it, raced it and then killed it(where that heap belongs)
