Note: as we have no in depth details of all earlier episodes ..in place of the episode # ..we have the broadcast year. Also cars only get *** stars if tested on the show (not if just driven briefly by the hosts) -- Last edit: 2006-10-24 12:47:54 |

This was Jeremy Clarkson's first ever appearance on the show, in 1989: |
◊ 2007-03-28 21:02 |
This was Top Gear when it lasted just 30 minutes and talked about residuals, fuel economy, insurance and dodgy dealerships. No wonder is was axed in this format. |

Here is Top Gears oficial YoyTube user page http://www.youtube.com/user/topgear |

No. Thats for new top gear 2002-2009. But there is 2 good channels with old segments from top gear from the 1990s. Here they are: http://www.youtube.com/user/ysivyboi1 http://www.youtube.com/user/gadjann note the second one some vids have bad sound quality and when you turn your computer and speakers up remember to turn it down again before watching a good quality video. -- Last edit: 2010-01-08 21:37:16 |

Nice Panhard 24(?) seen in the background in a 1991 episode: -- Last edit: 2012-07-27 04:58:17 |
◊ 2012-07-27 22:29 |
Wow! Although the license plate is different, I'm pretty sure it's the same 24 CT as here: http://world-viewer.com/photos/panhard-24-ct/08/ (never seen this colour on another Panhard) |
◊ 2012-08-08 00:37 |
Why not list it? |
◊ 2012-12-30 01:17 |
I added pictures from S11E07 [1983]: "William Woollard is in Warsaw to look at the Polish car industry and motoring in Poland. Sue Baker compares the Zastava Yugo 45, Skoda Rapid Coupe, Lada Riva and FSO Polonez." The whole episode is available at YouTube [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CU6NUInl9dk]. Weasel1984 & Jale: Please help! [Do you guys think we can upload sth more from that episode?] NOTE: YouTube & end credits says it is 1983, but imdb [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0948362/] shows 1984. I'm not sure which date is proper. -- Last edit: 2012-12-30 01:20:09 |

1983, but the rule is we do not list traffic/background cars in this type of shows. What might be added is the white Polonez with red plates, visible during the end credits. I really belive it had to be the car visible from the inside during the episode. Also it was in interesting trim - Lux or X (if domestic version). |

Here are some screenshots I took of some of the cars in this show. From left to right: Either a Ford Fiesta or an Austin Metro, Austin Seven, a Porsche 924 and a Leyland Terrier in an episode from 1982, 2 Ford Capris from an episode from 1987, an Austin Metro, Ford Cortina MkIV and a De Dion Bouton in an episode from 1981, a Ford Orion, a Ford Escort MkIII, a Ford Cortina MkV and an Austin Maestro from Series 11, Episode 4. -- Last edit: 2021-06-28 13:31:44 |

Armstrong Siddeley was not formed until 1919. If AA20 is a post 1919 car I would be extremely surprised, especially as it is a 1903 De Dion Bouton. /vehicle_435641-De-Dion-Bouton-Type-Q-1903.html https://www.alamy.com/1903-de-dion-bouton-model-q-image7713402.html The Austin Seven is correctly described here- /v032890.html -- Last edit: 2021-06-27 18:56:08 |

Thanks. I don't really understand older license plates. But the other cars, they'll be listed, right? I've also noticed that, besides the RS 3100 and Angela Rippon's Capri, no other ones are currently listed. -- Last edit: 2021-06-27 19:58:52 |

https://www.siddeley.org/history/armstrong-siddeley-cars-part-2/ This will show you what an Armstrong Siddeley looks like, you do not need to understand the registration system. The plates are not license plates. I don’t know about the other cars, and I don’t watch Top Gear, I think I have better things to do. -- Last edit: 2021-06-27 20:30:30 |

Ok. I just understand the current reg system, the one from 1983 to 2001, and the one from 1963 to 1982. |
◊ 2021-06-27 21:26 |
No worries, just concentrate on post 1963 cars, there are some of us who lived with the earlier system. |
◊ 2021-06-28 00:14 |
I grew up with the post-2001 system. |
◊ 2021-06-28 13:56 |
Should I add the cars I posted screenshots of? |
◊ 2021-06-28 14:03 |
Not up to me to answer. |
◊ 2021-06-28 14:13 |
OK. It's up to G-Mann, I assume. |

If you'd like to add them, you may add the thumbs on existing pages of the individual vehicles. If there isn't a page for a similar vehicle, you are free to submit them as separate entries |
◊ 2021-06-28 18:54 |
I've commented a screenshot of the Aston Martin V8 on it's respective page. There are no other pages for the other vehicles I took a screenshot of. |
◊ 2021-07-27 23:40 |
Just wondering, should we list Rally Report and Top Gear Motorsport, along with other spin-offs of this show as separate movies/tv shows? |
◊ 2021-07-28 00:40 |
Considering that we are trying to limit the number of reality TV shows added to the site, I would say no. I don't think any of the admins are looking to expand this title with offshoots. |
◊ 2021-07-28 01:15 |
Ok. Just wondering. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSnfS7UmAuU At the top is the link to a 1983 episode of the show about hill climbing. At the start there is a few quick scenes of cars participating in the Prescott Hill Climb. Should we add these cars? -- Last edit: 2021-07-30 17:49:23 |

@Carfan1978 - Check your episode numbers. Not sure how an entry can be listed as "1977" ep when the show started in July 1978. |
◊ 2022-05-29 22:01 |
Well, the first episode I took the Spitfire image from was from '77, and originally, the show was a Midlands exclusive until 1978. |
