 This is the original very first Longbridge built Mini 850 of 1959. Although Longbridge built the grille and badging on the front are for a Morris.

I have a photograph of Sir Alec Issigonis with this car on the day of his retirement in 1971.

 That is the 1971 photograph, if you look behind Sir Alec, you will see AJB 44B, the Monte Carlo Rally winner which was registered in 1964. The photo also contains other cars including a lowlight Minor and a Morris 1800.

 621 AOK was the first Cowley built Mini with chassis 101 at start of May 59 - despite Birmingham plate it was not a Longbridge build. Longbridge had started its first Minis in April 59 - chassis 101 (plate unknown), 102 (627 HUE - it later got made into a convertible proposal), 103 (KEG 77) etc. 621 AOK was the 6th production Mini across both Austin and Morris sequences, although now is wrongly touted as the first one.
