Each year of the show they used patrol cars just like the real CHP. 2 door sedans, Buicks, Olds, Mercurys, and my favorites the 57, 58, 59 Dodge Coronet D 500s. |

I just added pictures from the following episodes, all from Season 2, 1956-57: 2.9 ("Oil Lease"), 2.10 ("Ex Con"), 2.11 ("Motel Robbery"), 2.12 ("Stolen Car Ring") 2.14 ("Armored Car") 2.15 ("Migrant Workers") 2.16 ("Ranch Copter") 2.17 ("Amnesia"), 2.18 ("Statute of Limitations"), 2.21 ("Counterfeit"), 2.22 ("Suspected Cop"), 2.24 ("Female Hitchhiker"), 2.25 ("Nitro"), 2.26 ("Motorcycle B"), 2.27 ("Officer's Wife"), 2.28 ("Stripped Cars"), 2.29 ("Convict's Wife") and 2.30 ("Reformation"). I also checked 2.31 ("Stolen Plane Copter"), but it had no major cars to add. I will be adding cars to this page periodically since I pick up a local TV station that reruns it, and I record it every day. -- Last edit: 2010-07-13 01:12:28 |

Are there any good car chases in this show ? |
◊ 2010-07-13 15:32 |
Craft, I've seen one or two very short ones but nothing ending in a crash...not yet. Mostly they catch their guys at roadblocks or by showing up unexpectedly where the bad guy is headed. |

Just added images from the following episodes: Eps. 2.32 through 2.39. Eps. 4.1, 4.3 and 4.23. Nearly all Season three eps, except a handful. My recorder didn't catch some of them, the station pre-empted a couple and there were even a few episodes I scanned but didn't find any new cars. My local station or the THIS network, went out of order at one point and showed a late 1959 episode (4.23, which featured guest stars Robert Conrad and Dyan Cannon) and that enabled me to catch the '59 Dodge used by the HP. So now we apparently have all of the squad car Dodges. Completed. Special thanks to whichever moderator approved these images so quickly. |

That's a Ford AA flatbed, probably 1930-1931 based on the grille. It appears to be very "stripped down," for some reason. |

Maybe it was in the early stages of being transformed into a hot rod and was pressed into service? Or, it was in a wreck and a poor farmer stripped off the damage and kept driving it? Just a couple of guesses. |

This show predates the practice of a car company sponsoring by providing all the cars used by the major actors on screen. The writing even avoids mentioning the makes of cars, when pursuing a suspect. I've read that California Highway Patrol supplied some of the police cars. When did that force stop using two door sedans? |

here's a challenge: help me find an Edsel. Model years 1958 or 1959 only (series ended June 1959, before the 1960 Edsel came out) Filming would have been during or after September 1957. Looks like 3.17 was earliest episode using 1958 cars, but they don't always air in order of production. I'm missing: 3.15 Mother's March 3.21 Revenge (other Revenge title is 4.23 w/Robert Conrad, Dyan Cannon) 3.23 Deaf Mute 4.01 Frightened Witness 4.07 Portrait of Death 4.19 Gem Robbery Hunting thru the others. earlier missing episodes: 2.25 Nitro -- Last edit: 2014-04-18 15:40:53 |

Link to "www.google.co.uk" Since we cannot be exact about the car, it is not possible to be certain about the trafficators, but it is possible. They are fitted to my 1953 Bentley, but not in use, since nobody looks for them these days. I have fitted flashing indicators in the front spotlights, and separate units at the rear. |

This is a 90, not a 75, but the trafficator on the B-pillar is visible: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/uploads/cars/rover/3943426.jpg Trawling Google Images I found a couple with flashing turn signals but I think they were retrofitted. |

It's unmistakeably a Singer Roadster, but which model - 4AB, 4AC or SM1500 - I can't be sure at this distance. 1950-5.
