Reminds me of Sheriff of Cochise, later titled US Marshall, anyone else remember? Both from around the same time as Highway Patrol, 1957-1959. Main character, Sheriff Morgan used to drive a '56 Chrysler station wagon. Later, a '58 Chrysler and '58 DeSoto Fireflite Explorer, then a '59 for the last season. Always a wagon.
