this series is really strange in terms of cars !!! suppsoed to be set around early 90s yet a LOT of 50s cars on the streets |

I'd say they were aiming for a stylised "timeless" setting, rather like how Tim Burtons' Batman films mixed 1930s costumes and architecture with modern cars. |

on some episodes they mentioned clearly that it's 1991 but I guess you're right, the show seemed to have a more edgy and dark atmosphere like Batman .
