most of the vehicles bought in for the film were hastily patched up pieces of junk, which looked ok on film, but when examined close up were complete junkers!!.most of the cars had been modified in some way with non original suspension ,non original modern engines and uprated mechanics for stunt turns .they were all sold off after filming..highest price paid was for an unrestored original 1930s garage tow truck,which was found in california and brought to uk..i dont think it even appears in the final film...next highest price was for the 1942 chev bus...there was also one or two 1950s ex british civil defence commer auxilliary fire service trucks converted to flat beds -- Last edit: 2013-01-07 13:38:42 |

Nope. Most were pretty OK, actually. A few were uprated (i.e. hacked) for stunts so they got the attention, but most were just regular (very) old cars. I had a good look round at the auction... |
