1980 made-for-TV drama about the 1971 Attica Correctional Facility riot, where 1'200 mistreated inmates took control of the prison and 42 members of prison staff hostage on September 9th, demanding better living conditions, political rights, and amnesty from the uprising. On September 13th after three tense days of negotiations, Governor Nelson Rockefeller ordered state troopers to storm the building. The retaking involved tear gas and opening fire on the prisoners, resulting in 29 prisoners and 10 hostages being killed, mostly by police gunfire. The remaining prisoners were tortured and humiliated by the guards, though some of them would be granted $8'000'000 following a settlement suit in 2000. On September 17th, in response to the brutal retaking and subsequent treatment of the prisoners, militant left-wing organization Weather Underground retaliated by bombing Commissioner of Corrections Russell Oswald's office.

Set from September 9th to the 13th, 1971
Airdate: March 2nd, 1980
