![]() ![]() Looks like a 1937 Studebaker, but I can’t find one as a convertible – certainly not with this trim... |

Maybe with some European body ? |

Yes I agree with some sort of custom body. There is another different one here - /vehicle_194757-Studebaker-Dictator-1937.html -- Last edit: 2015-11-27 01:32:42 |

Strong similiarities to /vehicle_325097-Studebaker-Dictator-1936.html and /vehicle_878065-Studebaker-Dictator-1937.html - both UK body Dictator Drophead Foursome Coupé by Salmons - see screen shape, treble external door hinges and the waistline moulding (most evident on the 1936 car, but the grille looks more like the 1937). |

This is in Norway, so probably Director rather than Dictator. |

No, not really. All the survivors in Norway that I can find are called Dictator. As the car market in Norway was relatively small during the interwar years, no-one cared about the names of the cars. According to this article (in Norwegian), the car was coachbuilt by Graber in Switzerland. |

I can tell you something exciting. This car in picture, the year 1936 this car was bought by my great grandfather Julius Riddervold by a car dealer in the town of Haugesund in Norway. The color was light blue. My great-grandfather lent his car on special occasions. The picture shows the Norwegian king. My great-grandfather sold the car in the early 50's. The car was destroyed and unfortunately does not exist today.:) |
