Second truck from the left

Late 50's early 60's Mack, looks like a B61 thermodyne conventional tractor http://www.busandtruckmuseum.org.au/exhibs/061.htm could also possibly be a Maxidyn depending on how its spec'ed out

What year. Beacuse this truck looks alot different from the red Mack B-61 chasing the Malibu?

Mackinac359 US

It's a B81. B61's had the smaller-newer cab, B81's had the LJ series older cab.

U sure? It looks more like a B70 series.

I don't remember this truck except for this scene? Does it even move?

antp BE

2006-03-23 20:12

I think it is only seen in the background of this scene.

truckface NO

2006-03-23 20:21

This does actually drives along with the others in some scenes, but later on it vanishes (Maybe out of fuel and doesn`t want to be in the way for the others that still runs).

Well, it might seem like it should be one star as it is a backround vehicle, but it is seen through-out the entire movie up till the point when Bill and Curt try to rescue the Bible Salesman.

antp BE

2006-05-03 10:47

I do not remember that it is seen so much, only in far background

I counted at least ten times. Although, it should stay one star as it never realy does much except drive around in circles in the backround.

We are still talking about the second one, not the first white Mack?

firebird86 US

2006-05-04 02:36

yes the conventional, not the cabover

Yes it`s in the picture right beside the Mack B-77.

I believe that Mack was also in the scene when the trucks begin to startup and go.

explorer4x4

2006-06-10 01:30

Yes, it actually starts and drives around the Dixie Boy with the rest, BUT in a shot of one other truck circling the truck stop it is seen parked here in the same spot.

trucker US

2006-06-12 04:38

I have a question. Do all the trucks in the truckstop startup all together after the Western Star or later?

explorer4x4

2006-06-12 06:00

First, the Western Star tries to get the Bible salesman. Then, the Autocar kills Deke's dad and the Western Star kills the Bible salesman and after the Western Star parks, all of them start up. First the Mack B-series, White flatbed, Autocar and Mack Cruisliner, then the Western Star 4800 and then the rest of em'.

That's just the same picture as the main one, I just added the crosses and arrow to explain for which one was this page... but it seems that even this thing was too hard to understand [:kiki]

explorer4x4

But this topic is not about the Autocar, or the Transtar. As they have their own pages. :p

this is a backround vehicle but its very hard to spot. I guess since it seems to have not bee nused for a while it was low on gas and maybe starved or it left the dixie boy in a attempt to find a better gas source?

Its not the one with the blood splattered on it, its the one to the left of it.

There is no such truck as a Mack B-81. The truck second from the left in incorrectly labeled. this is a B-75. The B-77 Had a different Radiator shell. It is not a 60 Series of any type due to cab shape. The 60 series cabs had an angle at the front of the cab. also the windows were smaller. the Red truck a the front is not a mack. it is an auto car... so who ever said 50's or 60's model mack... sorry you're incorrect.

4x4 23

2009-09-28 00:51

This truck was a 1959 Mack B-77 amd it does drive around with the other than Vanishes, I do know the truck did return for the dixie boy blow up scene where it was hooked up the trash trailer the autocar hauled, the autocar that blew up had a timb bomb inder that contained a chemical, I exlpained it under the Autocar's page if you want to go see my info, this truck was one of the trucks that blew up with the dixie boy truck stop

The biggest differences between the B-70 series Mack models are the types of engines.

- B-73 used Cummins engines. - 3,240 produced.
- B-75 used Mack engines. - 3,900 produced.
- B-77 used supercharged Mack engines. - 377 produced.

Impossible to tell with these views unless someone has a BTS photo showing the badging on the side.

The first two models were produced starting in 1955, with the B-77 being produced starting in 1958.

Probably not worth adding any details specifically for listing sake.
