![]() ![]() 1978 made-for-TV disaster-horror film revolving around the real-life crash of Eastern Airlines Flight 401, which crashed on December 29th, 1972, shortly before midnight. Based around alleged ghost sightings, parts of the L-1011 that served as Flight 401 were salvaged and used as replacement parts for other L-1011 Tristars... until ghosts of those who died in the crash began appearing onboard other flights, much to the alarm of the passengers. This film, it's the ghost of Flight 401's flight engineer, played by Ernest Borgnine. I added another 1978 TV film based on the crash a couple years ago where I thoroughly trashed this film. However, the events of the last couple years have proved that there are far more things in this world worth getting upset over than a '70s TV movie. Also stars Kim Basinger in her film debut!
