I liked it, unline many war films that I usually do not really like |

This is probably my favorite Jude Law film. I liked Ed Harris too but his German accent was lacking. |

Hollywood should make a film about Simo Häyhä, too. |

This wasn't actually a Hollywood film, sixcyl just meant it was too much like a Hollywood film (despite not being one). I didn't like the way all the English actors (playing Russians) kept their English accents, and I'm not a fan of Jude Law. But the recreation of the bombed city of Stalingrad was good, overall it was an average war film. |

interesting fact..All the Russian steel helmets used in the movie are from a stock issued by the Russians to the Czech Army in the 1950s...they refurbished them in green back to mint cond with Czech liners...the Czech Army never used them and sold them all.......if you see one of these on E Bay in a new condition with green shell and mint liner, these helmets are from the same source....they were bought for the movie, but not used..at the end of filming they were all sold off.....and these are the very same ones turning up on E Bay. |

Don't like Jude Law? I liked him in Road to Perdition (very dark character) and in Gattaca. I think he deserves amble props for those movies. |

He was very good as Watson in the recent Sherlock Holmes films (which were very good and very close to the canon material). |
