There are two models that the Payne Motor Company manufacturers: a rebodied 2005+ Chrysler 300 (LX) called the "Ponderosa", which is part of the basic storyline of the show, and is a self-driving vehicle, and the "Magellan", a modified 2011-2020 Dodge Grand Caravan (R/T) (not much is known about the former). The trailer also features several Stellantis (FCA)-manufactured vehicles. Unlike Superstore, where the creator/writers knew about the retail industry, they have no clue what the auto industry is about. The pilot rips off a storyline from the show Better Off Ted, the company is about to introduce a brand new autonomous driving car, but realizes on the day of the press conference that it can run over people with darker skin tones confusing them for shadows. So they decide to built a new model from parts of cars in the employee parking lot (because in their world, apparently there are no government regulations). The second episode, a infamous serial killer lead police on a chase in one of the company's minivans (ala OJ Simpson and the Bronco). I don't have high hopes for this one, if it makes it episode #6 I will be surprised. It's a shame because Superstore was funny, but this one is a lemon.
