I'm willing to bet a cent or two that joke of the title card is not original. The movie certainly deserved a better one. It's an excellent production, but very difficult to sit through. Terrific performances all around with John Ashton (yes, he of Beverly Hills Cop and Midnight Run) never better, and Arliss Howard bone-chilling and surprisingly uncredited as the kidnapper. As always with true crime stories, it's not the crime itself that's the most infuriating part of the movie, it's the aftermath (and the aftermath of the aftermath...). Warner Bros. saw it fit to add a few postscripts before the end credits about what happened after the movie first aired as a two-part mini series, but did not mention the laughable sentence given to the hit-and-run driver who killed Steven, or that Steven's older brother grew up to be a serial killer. If you choose to watch this, have anti-depressants at the ready. On a lighter note, I was surprised to see this one was not listed, so I figured I'd add dvd caps before GodzillaFan54 found a terrible copy on youtube to cap... part 1 bonusmobiles: (the one with quad lights) part 2 bonusmobiles: (VW van and beetle) -- Last edit: 2026-08-15 22:17:19
