I have this video. Some clips from it appear in Clarkson's Top 100 Cars: /movie_446299-Clarkson-s-Top-100-Cars.html

It's not so much a documentary as an excuse for Clarkson to have fun with various cars, I believe it was only released on video. The premise is Clarkson is trying to work what the "greatest car in the world ever" is, so he looks at various classic and modern cars, sometimes driving them himself, sometimes talking over archive footage. He also tries to decide the worst car in the world, he goes through the Lamborghini Countach, Volvo 340, Yugo 45 before arriving at the early 80s Nissan Sunny which he flings into the air with a replica Medieval trebuchet. He also shows motoracing car crash footage for a bit of fun.

Lamborghini Countach?

I don't understand why they waste celluloid in this guy. He clearly has no clue what he's talking about, and can't seem to objectively test any car.

He dislikes the Countach, he didn't actually call it one of the worst cars in the world, just not a great car, despite it's impressive performance, it had heavy steering and clutch, was too cramped inside, a tiny rear window and the window only opened a tiny bit, that's what he had against it.

Stronghold, coincidentally I am already capturing these as I have every DVD release he has done - I started with this one and already have images ready for upload. There are a few minor vehicles I have missed though such as the individual pictures of cars from time to time, but I got the majority. Would it be OK for me to take over his releases?

You have this one on DVD? I thought it was VHS only.

Yes I was under that illusion as well, G-MANN. The first few releases up to 2000s At Full Throttle were previously only available on VHS (excluding Head to Head) until I think it was 2004 and they were all brought out onto DVD :D

Well his first video outings came out before DVDs took off in Britain. Anyway, the way I see it is that if you can get higher quality captures then you should do the page (though these are actually not bad at all especially if they're taken from a VHS).

It is true, but for some reason they released Head To Head on DVD but not his following release, At Full Throttle, and then went back to DVD since Top 100 Cars. I presume DVD version of Head To Head wasn't as well received as DVDs were relatively new back then.

As you can probably tell I am a really massive Clarkson fan :) I also plan to add a few other shows he has done to here.

I like Clarkson too, for all his big-headedness (and I'm not just talking about his perm) and outlandish comments he still makes great automotive programming. I can understand why some people don't like him, though I think they just aren't quite on the same wavelength as him, if you don't like him just ignore him, though if you avoid watching Top Gear because of him, you're really missing out on some great stuff.

He is a truly great man, you can never grow tired of his outrageous opinions. I have bought all of his DVDs annually :D He does have a bit of a love or hate appeal...I can also say that I saw him at this years MPH show, which was fun to say the least.

..I spent Well over two hours doing these captures this morning.(It's been ages since I put clarkson's top 100 on here...and nobody since has bothered to add any of his other shows.! :/ )... If you believe your pics are better ...you can take over ...But if you are going to do all of these Clarkson releases ...Do a good/thorough job...and Don't miss out cars.!! ;) (..I always try my best to get good pictures of each car for the site..even it it means getting a few captures of each car.! ...I've seen some other dvd/video releases added to the site ...which the contributor has done a rush job ...just capturing the first picture that comes to sight ...even if it's bad quality ...that's just a waste of time.! ..As the old saying goe's "If you're going to do a job...Do it properly"

..I agree with you G-Mann ...He doe's spout some real rubbish sometimes ...But still enjoy the show on the whole.!(Although I watch/add pic's for it also...It's better than '5th gear' ..which is sadly going down-hill.!)

Do not worry, I share the same sentiments as you. I like to get a decent shot of the car as well, and do not rush it believe me :) (I am a bit known for this on IGCD with my quest to produce "interesting shots" :D) The main cars I missed out were from the motorsport crashes that were shown as I did not feel they were needed...if you did these then please add them and I will do them for the next releases as well. Were these from VHS? Obviously since you spent time collating these, then the thumbnails would be appreciated :) I hope you don't mind this...it's quite a funny coincidence!

In this video Clarkson holds a drag race to discover "The Fastest Production Car in the World". It is between the Aston Martin Vantage, the Dodge Viper, the TVR Cerbera, the Lotus Esprit V8, the Porsche 911 Turbo and the Caterham Seven JPE. This might not sound like a definitive list but he explains he decided not to include members of the 200+ mph club, such as the McLaren F1, the Jaguar XJ220 and the Ferrari F50 because they are too exclusive and financially-prohibitive to really be considered as consumer cars (as he puts it they are "limited-run ultracars", though most likely the production budget wouldn't cover them) and there are no Ferraris such as the 512 or the 355 because Ferrari wouldn't co-operate with them and there was no Lamborghini Diablo, because he'd claimed he'd already raced one against the Vantage and it lost.

The test is to see which covers a standing mile first, the results are:
1) TVR Cerbera (which does it in just over 30 seconds)
2) Porsche 911 Turbo
3) Lotus Esprit V8
4) Aston Martin Vantage
5) Caterham Super Seven
6) Dodge Viper (which is neck and neck with the Caterham but about 5 seconds behind the top 3)

By the way, I believe a few cars have been missed out here, like the Alfa Romeo and the Ford Fiesta.

Every year since 1996, Jeremy Clarkson has released his own brand of annual DVDs, all of which have had a very similar flair throughout. Each DVD will normally contain its own theme, and are often a good source of entertainment, even if not quite as sophisticated as Top Gear.

In this release, the first ever in fact, Jeremy attempts to find "the best car in the world, ever", which basically involves him tracking this desired car, by testing mostly high performance supercars. Towards the end, he pits the finest of his chosen supercars head to head in a climatic race, whereby the TVR Cerbera wins, although this isn't actually the final winner. As well as cheesy guitar music throughout, these releases also have an annual tradition of Clarkson destroying "some kind of awful car", which for me is always the highlight. In this instance, Jeremy destroys:

The Volvo 340 - technically not one of his exaggerated destruction acts, but he does smash it into a tree because he cannot be bothered to drive it anymore.
The Yugo 45 - blown up by a tank and then ran over...by a tank
The Nissan Sunny - flung into the air by a medieval catapult only to endure a particularly hard landing. One of my personal favourites.

These destruction acts, plus the remaining ones in all of his DVDs, can be found in a recent mix I made - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TzNeEHhARY
