Yes, perhaps a 1953 to 1956 [EOTA] Zephyr Zodiac due to the two-tone paintwork? Otherwise a Consul or 'basic' Zephyr and either way 1951 to 1956. |

As a person who uploaded this, I should notice: I've never seen such a car before and very curious about it. ![]() Also, it looks a little bit different, or is it just an angle? Perhaps so... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f0/Ford.zodiac.arp.750pix.jpg -- Last edit: 2014-01-13 22:01:19 |

I'd guess 54+ Consul [EOTA] as it looks as if bigger rear lights, with home made two-tone. Your link ^ is a Mk2, which was a different body across Consul, Zephyr and Zodiac versions. |

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/5a/Ford_Consul_ca_1962.jpg Indeed, exact match. Thanks for explaining. Good car... |

Sorry, Kloga, but it is an earlier design in our picture. As your picture says, that car is a later 1962 (Mk.II) model. Our car here is a Mk.I (pre 1956) model. -- Last edit: 2014-01-13 22:55:03 |

Sorry for a mistake, I was just trying to say that anyways Consul is much more exact them Zephyr, anyway. I am still not a great identifier of cars, though I'm learning quickly and hope to be more helpful and knowing soon. |

@Kloga: Here're some close up photos of a restored 1954 Zephyr Zodiac http://www.classicperformanceford.com/Ford_Zodiac_MK1_ccw808/page01.htm . The Zephyr Zodiac was an upmarket Zephyr to compete with the Vauxhall Cresta. It had a slightly different head (higher compression), two colour paint, chromed wheel embellishers, a clock, additional lights on top of the overriders, and I also believe it had a slightly different interior with leather seats, a radio and a different roof lining. Indeed a nice car. -- Last edit: 2014-01-29 14:42:36 |

There's a brief clip earlier in the video of the same car in background on a showroom stand dressed up in tinsel with HHJ 79 plates (= Southend, Oct 53 to July 54 "issued irregularly") and shows definite Zephyr front. -- Last edit: 2024-10-21 13:48:47 |
