Yes, Darrell Cartrip is a '76 or '77 Monte. However for NASCAR's purposes it could be considered a 78-80 Monte. Since the 3rd Generation Monte's never raced, they were seen as two small. Earnhardt won his first title in 1980 driving a 76 or 77 style Monte for most of the season. |

I remember it being announced a few years before the movie came out that Darrell Waltrip would be playing a 1977 Monte Carlo. Seeing as I own one and I was born in Owensboro, I was totally stoked |
