The 24 Volga was first introduced in 1970 to replace the M-21 Volga and a replacement for the 24 was slated to arrive in the early-'80s but political issues kept getting in the way so the 24-10 (not sure of any differences between it and the ordinary 24 aside from some very minor updates) was brought to hold people over until the new Volga was introduced, but it was still being made as late as 1988 even though 99% of the car was a decade behind the rest of the world..
