Absolute sure, that it's a fake. The car itself is not original too. The colour ist not original, the badge neither. The wheels can be the "Weltmeister"-edition (the cap on the front right wheels looks like it), but I've the feeling, that it isn't an orignal 1302. Something looks non-original for me. Didn't have the 1302 chrome-trims inside the window-rubbers? |

Although faded, they must be there since the small union part kept its chrome finish. With this ten-vent engine lid and the crescent-shaped vents behind the rear side windows, I don't see why can't we consider it a 1971 car. |

Cars with plate from the Canary Islands were pretty common in Spanish mainland by then. Since practically no imports were allowed, one of the ways to get a "foreign" car imported was through a resident form Canaries, a free trade zone at the time. So, for me, this one is one of the few real spanish plates of the whole film. |

Ah, this is the reason! When I've checked the Volkswagen-export-statistics of the years 1971-1975 (for my K 70-literature-collection, what else), I've seen, how small the export to the Spanish mainland was, and that much more cars were exported to the Canaries. |
