Holden (was called the Commando in ZA) or *maybe*, but unlikely, equivalent Chevy |

Holden HQ series wagon - 1971-74, although I think the later HJ and HX series wagons - through to 1977 - retained the same rear end. This one is probably a Belmont because it doesn't have the chrome trims around the lights seen on the Kingswood. The NZ registration plate begins HX which makes it about 1975. http://richardlewis.is-a-geek.com/pictures/thumbs/pages/holden/14-HQ_JPG.htm -- Last edit: 2007-08-23 04:02:54 |

If it is a 75 model it is a HJ |

Not an HZ Kingswood (no centre Kingswood SL badge or tailgate lower left RTS badge). Used to have a side chromestrip, so it's at least a Kingswood. If it's an HQ it would be a 173 manual, since the 202 badge would be on the tailgate rear along with the Trimatic badge. Here is the badge scheme for the rear of an HQ. http://holdenpaedia.oldholden.com/Image:795a_1_b_2.jpg HJ Kingswoods and later had no rear badges to identify either the engine or the gearbox even in Kingswoods and Premiers. The hubcaps look later than HQ so I think it's an HJ since the chrome sidestrip looks like the HJ slender type. HX and HZ had broad sidestrips. T -- Last edit: 2008-05-28 06:32:22 |

Here is an Holden HQ. Note the blacked out hubcaps. http://gallery.oldholden.com/Jason1973/Holden+Help/image-1.jpg.html Here is an Holden HJ. Note the thin sidestrip and max chrome hubcaps. http://gallery.oldholden.com/Jason1973/Holden+Help/image-2.jpg.html T -- Last edit: 2008-06-05 05:48:04 |

This car used to be a Kingswood and not a Belmont. T |

HJ+ Have updated bumpers so it's not HQ. It does have chrome taillight surrounds so it is a Kingswood. |
