jcb ◊ 2017-02-07 15:08	On army vehicles starting in 1957 until 1992 the middle two letters refer to the age of the vehicle and FM =1972/73 which would fit. Different blocks of letters were issued to each of three vehicle classes A (Armoured) B ( Transport) and C ( Construction ). The number blocks for B vehicles are here- http://forum.lro.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=53831 Naval vehicles were all numbered RN and RAF vehicles all had A prefix.
