I think this is a Royal Enfield Model 180 V twin like this one - http://buyvintage1.wordpress.com/page-18-1923-royal-enfield-ladies-model-225cc/ - but the bike in the movie has a much later era electric headlight fitted.

The scene was a reenactment of the murder of Dublin Metropolitan Police Detective Sergeant Patrick "The Dog" Symth who was shot by members of the IRA 2nd Dublin Battalion, James "Jim" Slattery, Thomas Keogh, Thomas Ennis and Michael "Mick" Kennedy at the intersection of Millbourne Avenue and Millmount Avenue in Dublin on the 30th July 1919.

In reality, the murder of Detective Symth took place at night when he was near his home, and the members of the hit squad used 38. calibre revolvers.

Despite being hit, Symth managed to make it to his home where his daughter, Mary and older son, Francis helped him into the house while Symth's younger son, 14-year-old, Thomas chased after the gunmen.

According to Thomas, the gunmen split up with two running down a laneway to Millbourne Avenue and the other two heading across the waste grounds adjacent to the River Tolka where Thomas lost them.
