Panther Kallista. God, what an ugly thing. It's rare, though. |

1982+ Panther Kallista (Ford-powered). Nice find! |

Not near as bad as an Excalibur or the like! ![]() |

Sold in the USA from late 1985 so I guess 1986 MY. -- Last edit: 2012-04-17 19:05:10 |

To me it's the same ballpark. Wannabes trying to mimic the classics. Some of them are okay, this one is not too bad actually: /vehicle_23547-Beauford-1997.html |

I love how the CHMSL is mounted to the spare wheel. CF: http://www.bobsclassics.com/88pp32.jpg |

Looks a bit like a Caterham crossed with a Morgan. -- Last edit: 2012-04-17 20:36:11 |

They should imitate low-compression engines and unsynchronized gearboxes too. |
◊ 2012-04-17 23:41 |
It's an US-version, so the engine has already a lower compression (for the inferior fuel there) |

I mean,as low, as they were in 30s. |

Hmmmm, Sandie, wonder happens to the CHMSL if spare tire/wheel is being used? -- Last edit: 2012-04-18 01:24:21 |

The Kallista is a far better car than a Morgan - look at the Classic and Sportscar back to back roadtest. They were factory built, not kits eg Beauford and you don't get flies or stones in your face eg Caterham. They were built as a pastiche of what a sportscar might look like. If you get a chance to drive one be prepared for a pleasant surprise, (0-60 in less than 7.0secs) and if you haven't then say nothing! They are rare, only 1500approx built and about half went to France and Germany where there is a healthy regard and increasing values for them. The US version had modified rear suspension which was later incorporated into UK builds. The bumpers were a US requirement. The spare on the back means you don't have to unpack the car to change a flat. |
