In this case, since the scene required the crew to intentionally damage a police car, it would make sense that they use a very old car that would be of no use to them later on.

Well, to be honest, the reason why I was upset was because it is a 1992. They are pretty rare. If it was a 1993-1997, I wouldn't care THAT much.
