I would say an Impala. I'm not so sure there were convertible in the Bel-Air series in 1962. |

This car has been miscast beacuse in the song, the kid is ment to be driving a Pinto. "He needs some cool tunes, not just any will suffice But they didn't have Ice Cube, so he bought Vanilla Ice Now cruising in his Pinto, he sees homies as he pass But if he looks twice, they're gonna kick his lily ass" |

I'm pretty sure it's a Bel Air, as the side windows had round shape in the A-Pillar, while the impala has a straight line |

I don't know. I've look again in a 1962 Chevrolet brochure, no convertible in the Bel-Air line for 1962. The two only convertibles are the Impala and the Nova. And A-Pillars seem similar to me for all the 3 larges bodies of the year (Biscayne, Bel-Air and Impala). Beside, if you look at the other picture where the car can be seen (/vehicle_43739-Porsche-911-Carrera-993.html), there is a chromed trim on the side that only the Impala had. -- Last edit: 2006-07-25 10:07:08 |

Hey! The second one, the Impala, is a 1963, not a 1962. Front grilles, for one thing, are slightly different. And…euh… it's said in the link you've posted "63chvy01.jpg" ![]() ![]() Here is a 1962 Impala: http://www.hubcapcafe.com/ocs/pages01/chev6203.htm -- Last edit: 2006-07-25 10:54:58 |

How can you tell if this one has V-8 engine fitted in? |
