I will check my copy of the DVD but I am sure this is not a Ford. I think it is an International or a Commer.

An article about this vehicle appeared in the local paper this week. It is a 1940 International K3R which began life as a truck and served with the New Zealand Army through WW2. In 1945 it was converted into an ambulance and served the town of Runanga on the West Coast of the South Island for 32 years before being put in storage. Some restoration work was done to it in time for it to appear in the movie Heavenly Creatures where it did service in the end of an A frame. By 1998 it ws back in the hands of St John and a group of enthusiasts began 2000 hour restoration. By the time The World's Fastest Indian was filmed it was in pristine condition. Today it lives at Ferrymead Historic Park - where some scenes of the movie Heavenly Creatures were shot.
