There's nothing particulairly wrong about the Chevette's design. It's built terribly, but it's no more hideous than any other economy car from the same time. And, anything that's cheap, light, and RWD can't be all bad (these cars are a blast in winter). |

Lots of people must have liked something about the Chevette since it lasted from the late 70's to 1987. Just like any Chevy, they're durable and if you treat them good they'll run forever. I agree on the color though. These cars are also good in the compact demolition derby.lol. |

To think that the basic US Chevette was based on the much better looking Opel Kadett. Too bad the "Americanization" of the "T-Car" was executed so poorly. |

i have a book called "World's Worst Cars" and it features 150 of the worst cars that were/are produced, and this car was one of them. So was the 1970-1979 AMC Gremlin, AMC Pacer, and many other cars. The author of the book is Craig Cheetham. The book is very cheap, less than $10. Was this car replaced by the Chevrolet Nova during/after 1986? |
