Possibly?? The poor definition makes identification of the fine detail impossible.

^ The days when CAR magazine was the only mag really worth reading- Fraser, LJKS Setright, Mel Nichols, Steve Cropley .... then it went bland and glossy, just like all the others. maybe Top Gear (the mag) tried to inherit its spirit but was too giggly/boyracery/car-porn-for-schoolkids to wear the crown.

The documentary uses this footage to represent the 1950 British GP start, but the starting grid doesn't match with that GP.I search teh startign grids of the 1948,1949,1950 and 1951 and none of them maches.
Maybe the british users can identify from what year is this.

Pretty sure it's the 1950 British GP at Silverstone - compare:

Isn't it.
The starting grid doesn't match at all.

Blurry but I would say this looks more 158 (single exhaust) than 159 Alfetta (double exhaust). So cannot be Silverstone 1951 (or 1948 or 1949)

Cannot be silverstone 1950 either.it looks like a 158 anyway,maybe list this as a 158 without year?

It is in Silverstone though. Could the last thumb be from some other year? Perhaps non-championship race?

Yes,its definitely in Silverstone. What I think is that this is footage from a GP in Silverstone that isn't a british gp.thats why i was looking for help from someone that could know about other GPs in Silverstone.
But as I said,if this looks like a 158 for you,we could list this as a 158 without year.

Are all pictures from the same race though? Last thumb could be from this non-champ BRDC trophy held later in 1950 in Silverstone with both Alfa 158's and Ferrari 125's entering http://www.silhouet.com/motorsport/archive/f1/nc/1950/1950.html#brdc

Yes!,the starting grid matches perfectly with the first heat.

Ok,its a 158.This are other images in the documentary of the 158 from the actual 1950 british gp if you want to upgrade this one:

Yo can also list the Ferrari 125 and Maserati 4CLT/48 as 1950 then.
