With this cab, it's most likely not from the East. I'd strongly consider French Matford: ...which were also built by Germany's Ford plant in Cologne during the war. I remember seeing some of these in several historic GDR photos and documentaries. Edit: looking at it again, I'm sure it is one. The 'V' style grille, according to the explanation above in the link, possibly debuted in 1941.
