I completely messed up the name for this vehicle, it would be a C-900 not a D-900 as I added it. D-900 models don't exist as far as I'm aware.

Can't tell on the second picture but the first truck appears to be a cnt, with tandem axles and the exhaust hint at a diesel. So I think a CNT900

It sure isn't a Dodge D-900.

I just realized that this movie was filmed in Canada, so this truck is probably a Fargo and not a Dodge. The Dodge versions of these weren't sold in Canada as far as I'm aware. And the Fargo versions were produced in Canada.

-> Fargo LCF-900

You can also see the up fit for the fifth wheel in the thumbnail. Which means the class is Tractor and not Simple Truck.

Mercury trucks and Ford trucks were both sold in Canada at the same time, just depends on what the dealership brand was.

Prove me wrong.

Not trying to discredit you or anything. But what was the point of selling Fargo trucks in Canada if Dodge versions were also sold? Was it just because Dodge wanted more money or what? LCF models were assembled in Canada, but Dodge CNT models were only built in and imported from America.

More Fargo LCF models appear to be present in Canada than Dodge CNT models, so I was just wondering what the point imports were. Branding I guess?

Fargo trucks were sold at Plymouth, Chrysler or Desoto dealers. Dodge trucks were sold at Dodge dealers. The dealerships in Canada are further spread apart than in the US, so towns usually had either a Dodge or a Plymouth dealership, but not both. On the Ford side, it was usually either Ford or a Mercury dealer in a town. For GM, GMC was paired with Pontiac, Oldsmobile or Buick dealers for towns without a Chevy dealer.

I get it now. That explains why the Fargo versions of the heavy-duty C-series are more common in Canada than the Dodge versions that are from the U.S.

Edit: It turns out De Soto versions also exist, although these were old sold in Turkey from what I'm aware.

No DeSoto dealers [in the US] at the time this truck was made.

Here's when I came to my conclusions:

I wasn't sure what the breakdown was, but as lightninboy's link shows, it was Dodge-Desoto dealers and Chrysler-Plymouth dealers in Canada.

Turkey is another story, they sold trucks under Dodge, Fargo and Desoto names. Same exact models, as all three brands. And the Desoto and Fargo names lasted there until recently.

The film was recently added to Youtube movies as a free-to-watch film, and oddly it's actually the version of the film that's not cropped.

For a split second when the West-Way Refrigerated Truck rams the Aerostar, the front of this truck can clearly be seen. It has the Dodge name of the front of it. (This was cropped out of other releases I think, as it doesn't appear on my VHS copy.)
