I know it's a rear view only of a tractor and can anticipate the protest. But 2[*] so deserves a chance ....

A red tractor with that style of rear fender, most likely a Massey Ferguson 35.

Basically the early version, which began production in 1956 and was painted grey with gold mechanicals was the Ferguson FE35. When the product changed name to Massey Ferguson in 1958, and the colours were changed to red with grey mechanicals, it became the MF35. Essentially unchanged apart from appearance.

The difference between Ferguson and Massey Ferguson is a bit like the difference between Dodge Brothers and Dodge, except that in the case of Ferguson there is a clear cut point at which the name changed.

Thanks - I'll try to keep up, but no promises. However still leaves the question of what's happening within the Massey Ferguson collection, with both 35 and MF 35 groups, as well as lots of apparently similar xx and MF xx sets. Do we need a big clean-up to merge these apparent pairings (preferably by someone who knows what they're doing to ensure the correct things are being matched without intruders)??
