Due to some pics im watching featured here, is this movie using the Get Carter movie chase?? I definitaly think so :S -- Last edit: 2007-10-22 19:21:13 |

Yeap it steals most of Get Carter's chase, indeed ill take the chance to put some puics in Get Carter's page. |

Some of these cheap direct-to-video films (that also get shown on TV) sometimes steal chases from other films, probably because they can't afford to do it for themselves, it's very lame. I once saw this film called Y2K that stole the Lotus Esprit/Ford Mustang chase from Basic Instinct. Although funnily enough I hadn't seen Basic Instinct at that time, but I later did and saw exactly where they'd gotten it from (almost spoiled it a little bit). -- Last edit: 2007-10-22 21:36:01 |

Yes it is always from movies that cant afford proper chases, indeed, i have also seen Striking Distance car chase stolen by another movie and others as well, now you mention Basic Instinct, theres a chase i like on youtube with a Mitsubishi 3000 GT(?) im not sure, anyway, the chase itself is not bad at all but for some reason they inserted the mountain hase from Basic Instinct, i think that was a stupid idea there was no need of adding it, in my opinion, ill try to look for it and link to it. |

Personally I think these films to have to steal large amounts of footage and action sequences from higher quality movies aren't worth watching at all. I mean a film that plagiarizes the Get Carter remake, sounds like a great film! -- Last edit: 2007-10-22 23:04:06 |

It's a really a sign of quality when a film has to steal so much footage from another film! Actually the chase I was talking about was in a different film (Y2K starring Louis Gossett Jr) and it was taken from a different part of Basic Instinct (the bit later on where Sharon Stone's female lover tries to run over Michael Douglas and, after dueling with his Mustang, ends up crashing the Esprit and getting herself killed). I guess lots of crap movies have stolen from Basic Instinct. |

Probably because they couldn't afford to do such hairy stuntwork. |

And the TV series Las Vegas used a shot of an exploding BMW from Mission: Impossible (the 1996 film, shot in the Czech Republic), complete with a Lada on one side and a Skoda on the other. ![]() /vehicle_103070-BMW-316i-E36-1991.html -- Last edit: 2008-01-16 18:17:52 |
