It was made after A Christmas Story initially flopped but before it became a cult classic. It's basically A Christmas Story meets National Lampoon's Vacation. The opening credits bizarrely features footage from Metropolis with Disney's "High Ho" overlayed on top. Some anachronistic vehicles appear occasionally.
