There's also a shot (maybe only in the extended cut?) of a mid-70s Cadillac Fleetwood that drives up to Kong, who picks it up and throws it into a building and it catches fire. They used a miniature for the last part; I saw that miniature for sale at a swap meet in the early eighties. It was handmade of aluminum and was about two feet long. The seller wanted over a hundred dollars for it, and it was pretty crumpled and scorched, so I passed... |

I haven't seen this movie (or any of the King Kong films aside from King Kong vs Godzilla), but I'm excited to see Kong climb the World Trade Center! |

Would be cool to own the Cadillac though - would it being in your possession still qualify for "Owner of this vehicle"? |

Shoulda gone for it. $100 for an authentic movie prop is a steal. I assumed the year was 1982. $100 then would be $252.44 today. |

Why was the firetruck removed? |

Too many things blocking it. You can add to comments. |

I saw the remake a while ago and the climax at the WTC was pretty epic with Kong climbing it and the battle with the Army helicopters. The shots of the lobby inside the North Tower were pretty nice, seeing what it looked like at the time. It's a pity I'll never be able to visit the Twin Towers now that the new One and Two World Trade Center look nothing like the old Twin Towers or each other. The person who actually made the current design of Two World Center said if he had been part of rebuilding the WTC from the start, he would've rebuilt the Twin Towers. |

Added the Cadillac Fleetwood from a deleted scene mentioned in the above comments. https://youtu.be/a0Eo0N4LK2c?t=117 -- Last edit: 2023-11-20 03:39:54 |
