The aircraft is a 1932 de Havilland DH82a Tiger Moth with the registration mark G-APAD. It is part of the Imperial War Museum collection at Duxford, Cambridgeshire, England. We are used to cars having fake plates but his may be an example of an aircraft having a fake registration. If the film is set in 1924 the aircraft is an anachronism as it was not built until 1932, and the registration was not issued until 1952. |

OK. This is G-APAO (not G-APAD), a 1940 DH82a which is owned by a company which operates a number of vintage aircraft on pleasure flights from Duxford. It does look like G-APAD in the screen cap so it might have been faked for the film. -- Last edit: 2009-01-11 18:56:28 |
