Judging by the bumper with overiders - and the date of the film - it can only be a 1972 350SL ( already powered by a 4.5 engine ) or a 1973 450SL.

In the US this was a 350SL, and they only existed for the 1972 model year year. It did have the 4.5 liter engine, but Mercedes hadn't decided what to call it yet. It became the 450SL in 1973, 1974 they got the huge bumpers.

Sadly, there was a deleted scene that took place in this car and according to William Friedkin, he wanted to put it back in for the anniversary addition, but they couldn't find the soundtrack for it. You can still see the soundless clips on the special features of the blu ray, though. We get some nice footage of the Benz driving around Washington DC.

this was the mom's car (Ellen Burstyn) ...I want that car haha

(when my grandma saw this movie in the theater, there was a woman behind her that threw up all over my grandma)

(I like watching people on YouTube react to this movie!)

(shouldn't this be 3 stars, since its used by a main character?)

If used briefly then no, it's better to underrate.
