I suppose my interest in cars started with the "Matchbox" Bedford BP tanker and the white with black bonnet and a spotlight on the roof "Dinky" Cortina MkI. They were the first in a long line of model cars that, along with the ( restricted ) access to my father's collection of car sales brochures, kicked the enthusiasm. As a non-producer country, Portugal had a wide variety of cars and trucks sold here with lots of British models. Memories of childhood also include a derelict Lancia Aurelia Convertible [B24] discovered near a river when I was riding my Raleigh Chopper.
In the beginning of the 80s - and along with the post-punk music - I discovered the British classic cars magazines and I stayed in touch ever since.
Some reference films include "Once Upon a Time in America", "Blade Runner", "La dolce vita", "2001: a Space Odissey" or "Trois couleurs: Rouge" with a fascination for the "Blow Up" aesthetics.
