![]() 1975 made-for-TV historical drama about the life of Italian actor Rodolfo Pietro Filiberto Raffaello Guglielmi di Valentina d'Antonguella, better known by his stage name as Rudolph Valentino, who was considered the first male American sex symbol. Starring in several well-known silent films such as The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, The Sheik (both 1921), Blood and Sand (1922), The Eagle (1925), and The Son of the Sheik (1926), his career was tragically cut short by perforated ulcers mimicking appendicitis, leading to peritonitis after surgery was done to attend to the misdiagnosis, leading to his death at the age of only 31. This was the first American television film role for Italian actor Franco Nero, already known by this point for playing the title character in the Django series of spaghetti westerns and would go on to continue his already-illustrious career, later appearing in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. ![]() ![]() Airdate: November 23rd, 1975 |
