![]() 1976 made-for-TV war drama about a family of Japanese-Americans who are held in the Manzanar interment camp for the duration of the war and how they handle the poor conditions therein. Based on the novel of the same name by Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston and was much better received than If Tomorrow Comes. Both films also had Japanese-American actor Mako in them. Another notable cast member is Pat Morita. ![]() ![]() Set mostly during WII, though the film starts with Jeanne arriving at the ruins of the camp in the modern day and ends with a family member meeting her there, hence the Volkswagen van and Plymouth Fury.
