Rover P6? 2000/2200 or 3500 |
◊ 2008-05-23 20:11 |
it's a sedan. Rover indeed. But too far away. |

Note the spare wheel on the hood because of small luggage compartment |
◊ 2008-05-23 20:14 |
Hood is on the front How is that called in English? |
◊ 2008-05-23 20:18 |
Oh, sorry for my bad english, so it´s not hood, but boot lid |
◊ 2008-05-23 20:28 |
P6 has never been the name, but a chassis/body code |
◊ 2008-05-23 20:33 |
Yes, I know, the same is in the case of Ford Taunus (P3, P5 etc., but the name is Taunus 17M, 20M, 26M...) |

Bonnet |
◊ 2008-05-23 20:49 |
But bonnet is still the front isnt it? |
◊ 2008-05-23 20:55 |
Yes: bonnet=hood=capó, boot=trunk=maletero (I think) |
◊ 2008-05-23 20:59 |
Yes exactly, but when you responded to Garco's i thought you meant that the bonnet was for the back, and i had always thought it was for the front, so i wasnt wrong by the way is bonnet more used by the english and hood by the americans? |

Sí, Adrián, lo has entendido. (De mi Diccionario Oxford Compact:) capó m hood (AmE), bonnet (BrE) -- Last edit: 2008-05-23 22:07:56 |

... unless it is a VW Beetle ... The bonnet is actually the engine cover, while the boot is the storage compartment, which is accessible from the outside. The VW Typ 3 actually has two boots, one at the front and one at the rear, above the engine, and the bonnet is a lid inside the rear boot. |

Thought so |

The type of rear badges identify a 1971+ P6. |

72+. The first year of Mk2 kept the previous style letter badging. Likely a 3500 - LHD market exports of Mk2 2000 and later 2200 were fairly unsuccessful, to the extent that no LHD 2200 SC were made (apart from a solitary pilot build). |
