1959+ Burlingham Seagull Lightweight. Quite likely to be on a Bedford SB chassis, but no evidence from this picture.

This body was only built on two chassis, the Bedford SB and the (Ford) Thames 570E, sometimes called the Trader.

Try as I may, I cannot find comparative figures for the two, except to say that the Ford was generally less popular than the Bedford, having come later to the market.

I have now found out the quantities of Lightweight coaches delivered by Burlingham during 1959.

Commer Avenger IV. 17
Ford 570E 26
Bedford SB (all variants) 58

On probabilities, it’s a Bedford, I think that the Commers went to Southdown and looked different. However the Ford looked similar to the Bedford coachwork.

Lets say Bedford SB then to keep it out of unknowns.

Done, noting reservations as per above.
