Built on Solstad 9000 chassi wich is based on SAAB 9000, Solstad was a swedish company that converted SAAB 9000 to pickups. The ambulance was built by Anders Wiman AB, first Wiman 9000 was deliverd in 1996. Engine was the stock 2.3 Turbo. Don't know I think it's only ambulances and such vehicles. Seems that he is involved in this satans creation: http://www.wiman.se/utveckling.html |

Then buy an used one and create your own camper. Often people do it with old ambulances or fire-brigade-cars. |

... or hearse http://cadillac.giffaux.com/images/image/hearse-camper.jpg The converted Volvo (second from the right) on main Wiman's page looks definitely better. |

Do these Citroen-ambulances have also 3 axles, like the Express-Newspaper-Transporters, which were made in the 70ies and 80ies? A neighbour of my grandmother had such a 6-wheel-CX, used imported from France. |

Those made by Tissier (same as those you mention) had three axles indeed: /vehicle_56044-Citroen-CX-Ambulance-1979.html /vehicle_17452-Citroen-CX-Ambulance-1979.html |

Well, if it comes to a hearse, it can be worse... If you like that kind of automotive sideshow characters, be sure you don´t miss the oddball world of South African funeral coaches: http://www.customcitysa.com/8wheel.JPG http://www.customcitysa.com/images/8wheel3.JPG http://www.salimousines.co.za/limo_view.asp?limo_id=10 http://www.salimousines.co.za/limo_view.asp?limo_id=42 http://www.salimousines.co.za/limo_view.asp?limo_id=9 These coachbuilders must be kind of sick in an inventive way... Advise to all the children out there reading this: Don´t take drugs and afterwards try to build a single vehicle by using the content of a mid-sized parking block! |

@Animatronix: the one only one ultimate hearse is that one: http://www.m-100.de/Treffen/USAM100Treffen03/Undertaker1.jpg actually located there: http://www.mbgrand600.com/ I saw that hearse, when it was in daily use. I grown up not far away, where that funeral-company was located. |

Oh, thanks for the info. I didn't know that the car is back. Is it owned by a funeral-company again? If yes, it should be an idea, to remark it in my last will. |

Sorry if the question may had been already debated, but is it normal to name this car as Wiman and not Saab? ... I guess it's the same with Tissier and Citroën |

Yes, a funeral home near Ulm is the current owner. When the car was in USA, they had restored and converted it to common US funeral car style (casket table etc.). Back in Germany, it was retrofitted again to match German requirements at the Pollmann factory before the MB 600 went back into service. P.S.: I´d also prefer listing the above mentioned car as Saab (+ coachbuilder´s name) |

Some coachbuilders or tuners were selling cars under their name (e.g. RUF, Coleman-Milne) some not (e.g. Tissier, Heuliez) |

These were jokingly called "SAAB 90 000" as the emergency number was 90 000 and it was bigger than a 9000 ![]() Nice find! |
