Since the Renault 9 & 11 never existed as convertible in Europe, I guess it is either a US Renault Alliance (9) or a car converted to a convertible by its owner. |

Im guessings the second, the car seems French, thorugh the yellow headlights and the license plates, also the badge is renault. There are lots of companies which specialize in converting 'plain' cars into convertibles. Since the movie is located in France it is more obvious that it is a converted car, rather than a US imported one, don't you think? |

It can be an Alliance that got R9 or R11 headlights. There are several Renault Alliance in France actually, I think that you have more chances to see one of them rather than a modified R9/11 |

Hello, I confirm this car never built in France or in Europe by Renault. Only the US and Canada had this car made by AMC with joint venture with Renault US. In France we have approximatelly 50 Alliances convertible on the road. Somes sedan and and Encore too. The model on Photo in a 1986 model maybe a DL (medium version). That car also has the larger US version 5 mph bumpers compared to the smaller and more integrated ones used on Renault 9's or 11's built for Europe. -- Last edit: 2007-01-23 04:47:43 |
