A Peugeot 203, Renault Caravelle or Floride (have not seen it in awhile..?) and Citroen DS are in this film as well. |

A superb beginning, especially for anyone interested in action, history, France or motor cars. |

Thanks for the French trains. The right one is beautiful.. |

The right one is a BB 9200 painted in red and prepared for "Le capitole". All this Paris-Toulouse train was painted in red, reached 200km/h and started May 28th 1967. http://perso.orange.fr/geillon/trains/photos/bb9200.jpg |

Concerning cars one of the best movies ever. I also remember Fiat 500, Peugeot 204 and 504, Renault 8, 12 and 16, Volkswagen T 1 and - in an italian sequence - several Lancia buses. Did anyone ever notice that the vehicles in the movie fit well to the year of making (1973), but NOT to the year of plot (1963)? |

A very good memory about this movie ! I'd like to watch it again ... just to forget the disappointing remake of 1997. Well, as you guess, there is some aircraft. Here they are : http://www.impdb.org/index.php?title=The_Day_of_the_Jackal |

![]() “The point is getting away with it. And speaking as a professional, that's a very important consideration.” One of the all time great thrillers. Has you glued to the screen from beginning to end. A masterpiece, so no wonder it didn't win any Oscars. Upgraded to HD at long last and added several vehicles. bonus blurry Dyane because I have a soft spot for them: ![]() bonus rear ends: ![]() bonus beetle: ![]() bonus buses: ![]() ![]() bonus Ami (saw two of them on the road within the last few months, one, painted orange with Roma plates, just last week, after not having seen any since the 80s): ![]() bonus bike: ![]() ![]() bonus MB (and a sporty BMW in second thumb): ![]() ![]() bonus ID/DS wagon: ![]() bonus stuff and nonsense: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() bonus Grundig radio: ![]() bonus locomotives (the one in thumb #4 used to be here in abundance and we called it simply "The French One"): ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2025-08-17 12:07:16 (walter) |

Early Autobianchi A112, Lancia Flavia series 2. The "sporty BMW" is an Alfa Gt Veloce. |

I possibly confused it with some similar BMW I'd seen in another movie. Anyway, here is the front in its full blurry glory: ![]() ![]() |

Nice movie. Before I had only seen the 90s remake and the recent TV series. |
