directed by Charles Haas. (Who? I didn't know him and learn that he turned pretty soon to television. Too bad.)

Workers in a factory of Southern California are leading a life of hard work, friendship, and happy familly raising when suddenly the corrupted boss of their union is going postal. He (Mickey Rooney) discovers that two of the guys (Mel Tormé and Steve Cochran) witnessed and could testify against him. Big, very big problems follow: violence, torture, kidnapping.

Well, it's very good indeed!

The mobsters are very good (I'll mention especially Ray Danton, since I can't name the two others).

Steve Cochran is good, and Mamie Van Doren as his loving wife and the devoted mother of their only child, keeps her clothes on all movie long!

And there is a terrific performance

given by the great Mickey Rooney.

Some lows also, naturally. For instance, the annoying inability to show TV filming in cinema, but it was so frequent —even Network failed in it—, and the overacting kid, (but this is common too) and some other little things. The rest is excellent, musical score included. Very nice surprise, this unsung little gem!

Un sacré bon petit film, avec un sacré grand petit Mickey Rooney, et un sacré bon sujet. Je suis bien content de l'avoir vu et de vous en tirer des photos. Et, sachez-le, c'est ma 500ème contribution pour IMCDb.

By the way, it's my 500th contribution for our site.

The husky actor on the right of pic 1 and 2 is Leo Gordon. He wrote and acted in several episodes of Adam 12. Google him, he had an interesting history.

Yes: you go to "Profile", then to "Pictures provided" and then you squint your eyes, take a pencil and paper —or open a doc.txt— and then count and mark and re-count.

Or maybe another method would be by begging antp with the utmost disgusting obsequiosity… I don't know, I didn't try.
