sixcyl ◊ 2025-06-21 18:43	This travelogue from the 1960s is a “Picturelogue”, one of a series of films created and presented by Norman E. Schley, a filmmaker based in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The film is made of two reels about Spain, portraying tourist attractions, different small and major cities, and visits to surrounding Spanish islands. The camera team also takes a short trip to the city of Tanger in Morocco. This version of the film is (mostly) silent, but a sound version was produced and shown by Schley, possibly in front of a live audience or on television. The credits indicate that the script for this film was written by John Bakke. I found this picture from 1994, of the Jose Cornide (IMO 6909820) with sister ship Eduardo Chao (IMO 6909818) hiding behind: https://www.shipspotting.com/photos/2123586 - Both built in 1968 by Astilleros Reunidos Del Nervion in Bilbao. They were fishing trawlers; Jose Cornide was scrapped in 1998; Eduardo Chao is probably gone, too. The Eduardo Chao was damaged and the radio knocked out by a storm off the coast of Newfoundland in January, 1991, and feared lost before being located by a Canadian rescue helicopter with all crew safe; the same storm sank the MV Protektor.
