Ordinary SC3 - looks like smaller over-riders and no sidelights on top of front wings.

Silver Cloud I or II Standard Steel Saloon that has had SCIII front wings fitted, but has not had the lower radiator and bonnet line.

What naughty French people! See also this Chapron /vehicle.php?id=371251 . At least they got the sidelights right some of the time - compare /vehicle.php?id=563683 , /vehicle.php?id=455174

I suppose it all depends upon the amount of money the owner of the car wanted to spend. I have not studied exactly what had to be done, but would think that there is no doubt that it would have been an expensive job. These cars still had chassis, so the coachwork changes did not involve cutting into a monocoque, but did the Series III wing fit onto the inner wing of the Series I without change? The thought of taking a pair of tin snips to the hand built radiator shell is worrying, since the Series III is 1 1/2 inches shorter, top to bottom, and the bonnet would then not fit properly.

There is an interesting speculation to be had thinking of the sell by date of such a conversion. For what period in the sixties (if at all) would it have been worth having this done, just to kid the great unwashed that your six or seven year old Royce was a new one?
