Same here. Usually it is just people pushing. :/ A lot cheaper then using on of these.

At my Walmart they use some pushcart-type machines.

Here (at least at Makro, to cite the name :D) they use a kind of forklift vehicle; if I remember well, that allow to carry the carts rather than having to push/pull them.

Oh no. But I've never seen one of these things towing trolleys at supermarkets (which might explain why there's always trolleys all over the bloody car park). I can't believe one place in England uses a Land Rover (as banger134 mentioned) that is really extravagant.

Anyway, this looks like it might be Taylor-Dunn, though it could be another make, some of these companies are all merged together.

hahaha..i still haven't been to Costco yet. I think our Costco here in NC is too small to use them. When i'm up in VA next week I'll try to stop by the Costco up there. I'm sure i'll probably forget to :D

It's either an EZ-Go or a Taylor-Dunn.But I've never seen one like this used for this?? This is like Parks & Rec depts or huge factories and such use?? See a lot of them at Airports, too?? There is a machine I see mostly that -pushes- these,Super Wal-Mart/Sam's Club/Costco have these,so do some Targets?? Think it's idea was that just one guy can grab all the carts instead of 5 or 6....but you almost always either can't find a cart,or they're scattered all over the lot!!

how does it keep the carts from sliding out from under each other, someone please tell me

jettalover US

Well, the carts interlock together so they can't seperate themselves and roll away from each other. Sometimes they interlock or stick together too much, and they are extemely difficult to seperate.

I think it's worth it to have these machines to collect shopping carts at big box stores with giant parking lots. It's not laziness. There is a lot of ground to cover to wrangle up all those carts.
